SHIBORI INDIGO DYE:

The long-awaited plant dye workshop is HERE! Finally. And because this is the first of its kind, it's going to be very very special. Not to mention we will be outside at a long table surrounded by mountains AND the most insanely beautiful farm.  I. Can't. Even.

okay, course description for real though:

This course is all about learning how to use indigo dye to create beautiful (and practical!) pieces of art. You will learn the history behind the art of Shibori, different methods to creating artistic patterns, and dye natural fiber goods in a plant derived indigo vat.

We will each dye a large dish cloth (as pictured).  Each student is also encouraged to bring their own goods to dye, but please limit the number to 2 items, and please avoid bulky pieces (towels, linens, bedding etc.), as vat space and time are limited.  Cellulose fibers (cotton, linen, rayon, ramie) accept the color the best.

I promise you don't want to miss out on this one.

Each student will receive:

  • All materials to dye
  • XL cloth to dye
  • Instructions on patterns
  • Hand-crafted cocktails
  • Small eats
  • Memories for a life time ;)
